About this deal

You have guns, you have good looking food in industrial quantities, some over-the-top occurrences, tits and a manly man mc. Later on we find out some details about him that explains why he is so kick-ass, but I am sure that there is plenty more hidden secrets waiting to be exposed. Of, and the chef, a Man With a History, finds a laboratory manufactured woman in the middle of the desert and together they do crazy stuff. And yes, Arisa kicks butt all over the place, she’s definitely of a tried and true stereotype, but that whole nudity thing is a thing.

I still remember the 'Blue Lake City' one as it somehow managed to build upon the idea of desolation, despite its simplicity.

Before his 2013 debut in Shonen Sunday S with Unlimited Psychic Squad, Rokurou Ogaki worked as an assistant for manga artists Junpei Goto and Kenjiro Hata. By rejecting non-essential cookies, Reddit may still use certain cookies to ensure the proper functionality of our platform. Post-apocalyptic food truck vendor with a mysterious—yet skilled—past stumbles upon a naked girl in the middle of the desert one day. From Camouflage to Criminal: Gordon and Arisa visit Blue Lake City, and help liberate them from a gang of military deserters.

When he encounters Arisa, a naked girl sleeping in the middle of nowhere, he takes on the unintended travelling companion and her unexpected appetite. It starts as an rather eccentric food-action manga and it keeps that up, more questions being asked each chapter. It’s a little excessive, but does remind me a lot of other series in a bygone era, which is regrettable more than laudable. Idk, I've read cliché "gimmicky" manga before so I'm sure this will get 10+ volumes, maybe even 20+ with the overabundance of nudity. Sand Is Water: There are still isolated lakes, like in Towata, but many areas of sand have sea life in them, like squid and oysters.Faking the Dead: Gordon faked his own death after an Assassination Attempt which was foiled by Kyle and Sarah, but they told everyone it succeeded. Ogaki can draw movement well and the food part is nice too, since the series isn't blatantly just a food series. This series could’ve evolved into something bigger, as it had an interesting post-apocalyptic setting, two likable main characters, and an interesting cast of antagonists, but I guess we’ll never know.

A weird crossover between Mad Max and something you’d see on Food Network doesn’t seem like it would go well but it did.

Worth noting that there is a lot of nudity from Arisa—the mysterious “plot” girl—but the protagonist food truck chef balances it out by acting like her concerned father and always making an effort to cover her and teach her basic human lessons in comical ways.

It can come off more profound than Crazy Food Truck's previous attempts, though I understand why Ogaki might try to get there, given the finale nature of this volume. Otherwise the crazy thing is she is dumb, I mean really dumb and lacks a basic understanding of how their world works. Gordon, a food truck owner, is trying to exist in a post apocalyptic world when he stumbles upon a naked woman named Arisa in the desert. I liked the general concept, but I couldn't look past the constant nudity and sexualization of a 17-year-old girl, as well as her general Born Sexy Yesterday deal. I'd argue there are series that don't have the tag that have more fan service, but this doesn't shy away from displaying boobs so it's understandable why the tag's there. At its end here, the third volume of Crazy Food Truck can be seen as an interesting illustration of how an impending finish can affect the direction of a story. There is an excellent car chase that has an appreciable focus on detail at the start and there’s a nice little showdown towards the end over a bowl of ramen.
