St Mary's Kidlington

Recent Worship

Recordings of past Pauses for Prayer, Services, Reflections & Compline can be accessed from this Index Page

Our Parish lies some six miles north of Oxford. We are served by three churches: the mediaeval Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin and the Church of St John the Baptist in Kidlington itself, and, across the meadows of the River Cherwell, by another ancient church of St Mary the Virgin in Hampton Poyle.

Open Gardens

The Open Gardens Weekend, planned as part of our 2020 celebrations, has had to be postponed until 2021. However, a number of photos of the gardens have been posted on the Kidlington & Hampton Poyle 800 website so that you can see how beautiful they are looking and what you can look forward to in June 2021.

Joyful Noise

Is now on line, with a new recorded service of music, stories, and fun every Friday at 9am.

Activities & Groups
Our three churches act as one in organising events, activities and groups --- from flowers to fellowship, and back.

Music at St Mary's
Music plays a strong role in Kidlington's community life and in worship. St Mary's is an ideal venue for concerts year round.

The Hub

Community Hub
The Hub runs and hosts child and carer groups, mostly at St John's in the Broadway, but also in St Mary's in Church St. All activities are suspended pro tem.

Clergy Pages

Meet the Clergy
Our Clergy Team serve at all the churches in rotation. Find out who's who, and find links to selected sermons and talks.

Kidlington & Hampton Poyle 800

Our two churches of St Mary in Kidlington and St Mary in Hampton Poyle were built eight hundred years ago, and in 2020 we started to hold a year long celebration of our octocentenary.

Of course all of the events are on hold at the moment. There is a web site: visit

On line giving
There are new ways to donate to the work of the Parish.

Our Churches

Our churches were built for all in the community, and have been used day in and day out for close to 800 years. The doors of the two St Mary's are usually open each day, as is the chapel at St John's for quiet morning prayer. Unfortunately, and especially so when we need them most, we are now required keep the churches closed. Please join with us in our daily prayer and services relayed by video.

Kidlington Team Ministry

We seek to serve the communities of Kidlington and Hampton Poyle for their own sake ... to respond to God's call to recognize and establish the Kingdom of God in the minds and lives of local people ... by faith and trust in God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
