About this deal

A group for people who enjoy reading and talking about adult historical romance books between a man and woman. The second novel of the series was published under the title ‘Saint Death’ by the same publishing house in the year 2013. Because I believe in a happy ending, I believe in all of those good things, that as long as we work hard, life will be happy. This novel traces the coming of age of the only child, a daughter, of a very traditional Episcopal priest. While you can still read and enjoy Gloria on its own, it'll probably be the most fun after reading Sinner!

When I began my journey as an author in earnest, that was the question I was facing, and it was the one I wanted my characters to explore. I like the powerplay between Gabriel and the Vatican portrayed in the story, and I gain a little history even though it’s a work of fiction. Six months ago, I broke my vow of celibacy on the altar of my own church, and God help me, I would do it again. I don’t believe that faith is required to be moral—my nonreligious parents are more principled than many Christians I know—but I like to see characters work out that tension between what we’re taught in Scripture, what we believe or want to believe, and how we actually live it out in daily life (sins and all). The initial novel of this series revolves around a serial killer who used to operate during the Blitz.

I read Home Again many years ago, and while I love all of Kristin Hannah’s books, this story in particular combined everything I love—ill-fated love, mother-daughter conflict, friendship, sibling rivalry, and an utterly shocking ending. It should be easy enough-keep her head down while she works in the house’s crumbling private library and while she hunts down any information as to why this remote manor tucked into the fog-shrouded moors would be the last place her mother was seen alive. Luckily, he’s already got one in the shape of Zenny Iverson, the gorgeous girl he stole away from a convent (once upon a time). A tender, beautifully told story of emotional growth, forgiveness [and] the possibility of miracles.

Martin’s Malice Award-winning Southern Fried , I wanted to get the medical, investigative, and courtroom details right. The volume opens with a consideration of the context of a priest's life and work, moving on to investigate the issues of clerical literacy and the availability of books to priests, uncovering avenues for priestly education and elucidating the role that the secular clergy played in channels of manuscript production and distribution. THE ENCHANTED wrapped its beautiful and terrible fingers around me from the first page and refused to let go after the last. Now that he has his robes, he’s been tasked with reviving this church’s membership and reputation following a sexual abuse scandal with the previous priest that affected Tyler’s family, something that he still hasn’t come to terms with.

It is the story of a soldier coming home from war, of a person trying to be better than the worst things they’ve ever done, and of rekindling a sense of purpose when you’ve been lost for too long. He assumes he’ll be a suitable shepherd to the humans, people he expects to be simple and straightforward. To add to his problems, his employers at the agency send another agent to kill him, which stack the odds against him even higher.
