There’s some sort of slow euphoric feeling that I get when I skate,” she says. “Skaters are never stressed or agitated. They’re on good vibes”

The real-life events that I May Destroy You is based on took place when she was working on season two of Chewing Gum. While up late writing at the office, she headed out to meet a friend at a bar. Sometime that night, her drink was spiked, she says, and she was sexually assaulted. As she tells it, the emotional trauma she suffered has been tempered by confronting it head-on. “I don’t think I really understood how much making a show would make this thing lose its power,” she says. “Now it’s just a scar like these ones.” She points to her knees.

Julie Andrews

When I curated the exhibition at the V&A in 2009, Hats: An Anthology by Stephen Jones, I really wanted to have some royal hats in there. I had a hat that Philip Treacy had made for the now Queen Consort, Camilla, and I also wanted to have a hat from the Queen and the Queen Mother. From the Queen, I asked if I could have an Hermès scarf, because I thought that was one of the most wonderful “hats” that she had ever worn. She wore it with a bow under her chin – she was the only person in the world who had ever done that. And I probably rehearsed with scarves for a month on a mannequin before I was able to tie it in the way that Her Majesty would have done it. I was very aware that it was a huge honour. The Queen very kindly chose the hat that the Queen Mother had worn on her 100th birthday to be in that exhibition, which was a very defining moment for me. I never made hats for the Queen, but to be involved in that way was a real honour too. Linda was over here yesterday, and I was trying to understand what it was about her. I don’t know. What is it about Linda, or what was it from the minute I met her? The first thing we did together was US Vogue. Linda gives blood, literally. She’ll stand on her head; she’ll do this or do that. Besides the fact that she’s a beauty. I mean, there are a lot of beautiful women that don’t photograph and aren’t photogenic and aren’t willing to create with you and do the process. Linda was always willing to do everything – and happily so.”

Work will be much busier this week, Capricorn, with the full moon in Gemini. You might be wrapping up projects or taking on new responsibilities. You may be trying to find a greater work-life balance as well, or you’re paying more attention to your health. You may want to exercise or eat nutritious foods. As Mercury moves into your sign, you might be coming up with new personal goals and reflecting on what interests you want to pursue next. Whatever subjects you’re learning about currently may in turn be helping you to shape a new sense of identity. Aquarius Horoscope While having proclivities not unusual of any person her age—she likes to go shopping with friends, take trips to the beach, gravitates toward beige and pink athleisure clothing, binge watches Modern Family when she has the time—she comes off as relaxed and introspective, someone who considers her thoughts and Alex’s achievements come at a time when more than a handful of Filipinos have been excelling in global sports, from Hidilyn Diaz’s golden performance in Tokyo to EJ Obiena to the Philippine Women’s National Football Team. As she excelled and grew more passionate about the game, Alex joined more tournaments, locally and regionally. The Ealas went all in toward the dream. But her family firmly wants her to be unburdened. “I always lang tell her na parang na whatever the expectations of others are, in the end, it really doesn’t matter. It’s more about how you feel about it yourself,” Mike says. “If you find joy in your everyday work and you continue to improve because that’s the only thing that matters. How successful you are, or how unsuccessful you are, at the end of the day, ikaw lang naman eh. That’s the only thing that matters, how you feel about yourself, how you feel about your journey.”

Scorpio Horoscope Today: November 22, 2022

The mindset is huge. She [doesn’t] give up. Sometimes there is a tough moment, she knows how to go [hard] with the mindset, and to put more intensity. I love to train her because she’s intense,” he says. “She’s asking a lot of questions when some stuff doesn’t work. She is always learning. She is always open-minded.” For Vaseux, the best thing about his young ward is her capacity for daily work. You will be building self-confidence this week, Aquarius, with the full moon in Gemini. You may be leaning into a creative hobby or preparing to launch a passion project you’ve been developing. You may also be realising how you can build yourself up rather than comparing yourself to other people, and you’re showing your true personality in both social and romantic situations. As Mercury moves into Capricorn, your intuition may feel stronger, or you could have an interest in reading about topics related to spirituality or mental health. You might be calming your mind by journaling or meditating. Pisces Horoscope Whatever the routine of Miko, Mike adds, Alex would join in. “So she was at the tennis court at a very young age. When Kuya was playing with Lolo so nakikita na niya. So she’s exposed to tennis at a very young age,” Mike says. “But yeah, it was really more of a bonding thing with Lolo. He wanted to see his grandkids more often so parang yung strategy niya, turuan mo nga mag-tennis yan. So once a week, naging twice a week.” Vogue Philippines visits Alex Eala at her training grounds in Mallorca, mere weeks after her historic win at the US Open. Jacs T. Sampayan talks to the young champion about her early beginnings, her supportive family, and what she thinks of carrying the torch for Philippine tennis.

But, your love is a prayer, Pisces. Your love is devotion to both the mysterious forces and ‘the other’. As somebody who brings that ethereal quality to the table, you expect your partner to do the same. Here’s the catch (as there always is): they may be more practical minded than you in certain ways. As a result, they may not *always* be able to meet you where you are or express themselves poetic eloquence. So, make yourself vulnerable. Tell them how you want to be loved and the kind of experiences you desire to share with them. At the same time, move into a state of allowance. This will help you recognise their unique love language. Single Neptunians are being reminded now is *not* the time to settle or lower your expectations. Overheard at the cosmic conference: you’ve been doing the work, honey. You’ve been facing your shadows and transmuting the darkness into light. You deserve a partner who will dance the dance of life with you with the same passion and poise.

Let’s talk about Ghana, 1961. There’s a photograph of the Queen dancing with Kwame Nkrumah, four years after the country’s independence. It makes me think of my Ghanaian dad and my English mum dancing together at the same time – the Queen was doing something radical in that era. She brought nations together. I actually met her for the only time earlier this year, at The Platinum Jubilee Celebration: A Gallop Through History performance. It had rained all afternoon and was chilly. Despite the Queen’s mobility issues, she stayed for the entire evening. Afterwards, we were all told to line up and wave as she drove past. Then, unexpectedly, Alan Titchmarsh walked over to me. “Follow me,” he said. That’s where I met the Queen! There was something so engaging and charismatic about this 96-year-old beautiful woman, so tiny and twinkly. She was delighted by life. I looked at her and thought, “I hope that I have that much curiosity, engagement and fun about me when I’m your age.” Alexa Chung Queen Elizabeth II dedicated her life to the nation over her remarkable 70-year reign and has left us with an extraordinary legacy. Her sense of duty, grace, warmth, dignity and selflessness will never be forgotten. During her life, she was an excellent role model and an inspiration, showing strong leadership, diplomacy and a calm, measured approach to the challenges she faced. I have been very proud and honoured to hold her Royal Warrant since 1982, and I was fortunate to have the privilege of meeting her on several occasions. We had a shared love of the countryside, dogs and horse racing, and I always found her to be very warm and welcoming, with a great sense of humour. Anya Hindmarch When she was a teenager, Simone Ashley would often spend New Year’s Eve alone, writing letters to herself. “I was a bit of a rebel,” the actor explains, half amused at her own self-seriousness. “I went to a predominantly white all-girls school. I didn’t fit in, there was bullying and I was wishing my life away.” She would remind herself to have perspective, that it’d all be over in a few years. “I would tell myself, ‘You’ll move away from this place, you’ll find your people and you’ll do whatever you want.’” Alex’s triumph at Tarbes in 2018 opened more doors for the teen. Not only did it win her a wildcard at that year’s Roland Garros, she received a full scholarship to the Rafael Nadal Academy, in the Spaniard’s hometown of Mallorca. Within that same year, she and Miko moved to Spain to train. In addition to British Vogue we also have Italian, Spanish, Japanese, American, Indian and French Vogue so you can get a truly cosmopolitan look at fashion!
