About this deal

I understand that you want to publish fast and that a proper GPU evaluation may be more involved, so I can only hope that will come very soon. Asus is using a 720p webcam on the Zenbook S 13 OLED. While higher resolution doesn't necessarily mean better image quality, I'd still like to see a move to 1080p. With all these in mind, here are the lists of the announced or rumored 2023 Ryzen 7 notebooks, as well as the previous generation options. These tables down below are a continuous work in progress and we’re constantly updating them with new entries as they are launched, so let us know in the comments below if you spot any mistake or any product that should be included here and is not. 2023 Ryzen 7 7745HX and Ryzen 7 7840HS/7735HS options

At first glance, we're impressed by how close together all the 7 models perform. The performance spread is surprisingly tight especially when compared to something like the Core i7-1165G7 where certain models can perform 50 percent slower than another with the exact same processor. The Ryzen 7 PRO 6850U in the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s G3, for example, is only about 15 percent slower than the Ryzen 7 6800U in the Lenovo Yoga 7 14 even though the ThinkPad is the slowest performer in our database thus far.The Asus Zenbook S 13's OLED screen proved decently vivid at 126% of the sRGB color gamut and 89.3% of the DCI-P3 gamut. That's more vibrant than the LED screen on the 13-inch MacBook Pro, but the OLED panels on Lenovo's Yoga 9i Gen 7 and IdeaPad Slim 7 Carbon won out on both color spectrums. This year it's mostly about efficiency and the new RDNA2 GPU, which are important for ultraportable notebooks, but aren't as relevant for high power gaming systems. Hopefully next year we see a more balanced overhaul that sees decent gains to all areas of performance. For Acrobat PDF exporting to PNG images, the 6800H doesn't gain very much performance compared to the 5800H, and ends up quite behind the 12700H with its faster single-core speeds. The Core i7 model finished this test 9 seconds faster, which is a margin of 15 percent.

You might still find these in stores, and with good discounts. Plus, given the differences between Phoenix and Rembrandt are not that significant in real-use, there’s a fair chance you’ll get excellent value for your money in this class. Model and medium quality was still asking just a bit too much of the integrated Radeon 680M, but adjusting the resolution to 1600x900 should get most games into the 30 fps or higher range. These are also relatively demanding games, so lighter fare shouldn't be a problem. For more day-to-day tasks and graphics acceleration (or light gaming), the Ryzen 7 6800U is the best of the bunch. Some creative pros can get away with this level of performance, but if you work with media that requires a powerful GPU, this is still not the tier for you. Just make sure you understand the particularities of OLED panels on laptops, and that the full-panel brightness is only around 400-nits for the non-touch variant and 350-nits for the touch model, so this is not going to be ideal in bright light environments, where the glare of the glass-covered screen adds into the mix. It was only on behest of Apple demanding better iGPU performance that Intel started their Iris Plus/Pro souped up 48/96 vs. the normal 24EU iGPUs which put 64/128MB of EDRAM on the die carrier to achieve the bandwidth required to make use of the extra GPU cores.Right now looking for RTX 3060 systems though, there doesn't seem to be a heap separating the price of AMD and Intel configurations; personally we think the AMD models will need to come in slightly cheaper to become the better value buy.
