About this deal

You should try Leica's own Noctilux 50/0.95 and in time will find the TTAritisan actually isn't bad at all even if it costed twice as much. The TTartisan 50mm f/1.2 is an instant recommendation for anyone who likes to use the 50mm focal length on an APSC camera. So, I am not sure this lens is so good, because we have for what we pay, there we see a 50mm on a M8 which becomes a 65mm, but it is not possible to make a F.0,95 lens at this price, somewhere it must have a quality bug, … … this is the second reason I do not buy things for China, quality was never good, but it is afordable, but I never keep something, do not worry, at this price they will give you a new one, … You’ll benefit from pairing this lens with a camera with a fast top shutter speed and a Neutral Density filter, as it will allow you to use the lens wide open in brighter conditions, should you so choose. I didn’t use an ND filter with the TTArtisan 50mm f/0.95, and whenever I was walking in the sun and unable to access the magic sauce of wider apertures, I did find myself questioning my life choices.

Nice pictures which are from the talent of the photographer. If I want good earphones, I will go for Bose or Shure, Beats is not my reference, it is mass market. In the center the resolution at infinity is quite okay at f/0.95, but we can clearly see some glow (spherical aberration) and also a small amout of purple fringing. Midframe and corners are nothing to write home about. Whereas the 35mm is light, compact, and ergonomically superior, the 50mm f/0.95 is a beastly, viewfinder crowding, carpal-tunnel-inducing tank of a lens. This is a very different lens as it is not optimized to give smooth bokeh at maximum aperture but rather nervous bokeh with lots of field curvature. Does not fit my taste, but maybe the cheapest option to get a new very fast 50mm lens.My instinct tells me that you will like Leica's Apo-Summicron-SL lenses, very sharp from corner to corner across all apertures. If you like mirrorless shooting style, they are definitely worth looking into. These lenses produce clean, transparent looks which even dwarf Apo M50/2. It should also be noted that I investigated having the lens modified to adjust the focal length. Unfortunately, due to the design of the optical housing at the

Why am I telling you all this? Because at times I wish all lenses had the chance to be user-calibrated like the TTArtisan 50mm 0.95 and its siblings do!Throughout this series of lenses I had to calibrate my rangefinder a few times, so the issues I had with some of these lenses might have been the camera’s fault, but I can’t say for sure. I kept on blaming my self for keeping on getting it wrong. But could I be so dumb? Before anyone starts nodding, please hear me out: I noticed the pattern. If I adjusted focus for 2m, MFD would be past the target. If I tried tuning it for MFD, the 2m focus plane was too close, and so were all other distances. There was no compromise to be found, way too much shifting of the plane of focus with MFD. I want to thank Foto Vision (retailer) for sending me a review copy of this lens. As always, this is a completely independent review. The opinions here are completely my own. *The tests and most of the photos that I share as a part of my review cycle have been done with the Sony a6400 along with the Sony Alpha 1 which will serve as my benchmark camera for the foreseeable future ( my review here). Stopping down to f/2 the sharpens up quite a lot and becomes a lot more contrasty. As is to be expected. Optimal sharpness is achieved at f/5.6-f/8, but who on earth buys a 98USD 50mm f/1.2 lens to shoot it at f/8?….. yeah…didn’t hink so either!
