Nearly all small electronic devices including smartphones, smartwatches, tablets, earbuds, headphones, and laptops charge via one of three standard input ports: Micro USB, USB-A, and USB-C.

This also holds true for USB hubs that don’t have fast charging protocols. A lot of time people are not aware that different power sources have different power outputs, so they expect the same results regardless of what they’re using. But simply charging a power bank via a low-powered laptop’s USB port can add up to 10 hours to the total charging time, especially if it’s a high-capacity power bank. 5. Experiment With a Different Wall ChargerYou need a lot of power: Thankfully, the battery on the Tylt Bottle 2 isn't so big it adds too much weight, but that also means it isn't powerful enough for multiple charges. If the connections are secure but your power bank still isn’t charging, the power cable itself might be the issue. Some cables are of lower quality, impacting the charging rate. In fact, our testing confirms what battery makers usually claim. A battery maker will claim between 60% and 70% efficiency, so that 10,000mAh battery will only give your phone around 6,000mAh of extra battery charge, at the least. In practice we find around 65% efficiency, though occasionally we can do even better. These displays work similarly to an LCD screen but use LED technology to provide numerical or alphanumeric information about the charge level, usually in terms of a percentage.
To test charging times and claims, we charged a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and an Apple iPhone 15 to determine how many charges each battery offers these devices. We reserved a dedicated section for a blinking red light because it’s a rather important one. Because there’s no universal power bank language, it can mean different things depending on each model. Here are the most common interpretations of the red light blinking on a portable charger: Compared to the more durable options we tested, the Fast Charge has an all-plastic casing that feels a bit delicate and cheap to the touch. It survived our drop test and continued to function, but it just doesn’t have the feel of excellent build quality. Still, it’s a perfectly usable power bank. The adaptor you’re using could be faulty or delivering too low an output for the power bank to charge. Consider trying a different adaptor. If this resolves the issue, it’s a clear sign that your original adaptor is faulty and needs replacing.
The next question is how you want to charge your device. You can find a power bank that charges your phone (or even your Apple Watch) wirelessly. These will usually charge slower, but they can be very convenient if you want to leave wires at home.
