About this deal

The Phoenix lords are Exarchs so ancient that they have no shrines and no Craftworlds to call home. They wander from world to world, instinctively driven by war, attracted by intuitive power to places of great danger and need. During moments of desperation they appear, sometimes alone but often several together, depending upon the perils faced. Using the Eldar Webway they move from Craftworld to Craftworld and from planet to planet, following in the path of the Bloody-handed God. [1a] The title might just be a clue as to the tone of this story; the plot sees some of Ulthwé’s brightest on a mission of hope…but we know what’s in the future for the eldar race, and it’s not exactly bright. The concept of the ‘path’ is hugely important for the eldar, and this looks at how the sacrifice of the few can be for the benefit of the many; like an Exarch dedicating himself to Khaine so that he can pass on his skills, or a farseer sacrificing much for the future of a craftworld. Along the way there’s fighting aplenty, but the main draw here is the narrative and not the action – it progresses at a measured pace, as opposed to jumping straight into the midst of battle.

Artel W : Artel W used to have some really nice Howling Banshees and a Seer, all heavily influenced by Dawn of War 3. IIRC, they got into legal trouble and have since discontinued this range. Instead, they have slightly different Howling Banshees, Dark Reapers, Striking Scorpions, Fire Dragons. They also have a Seer, Exarchs for each aspect and, IIRC, a Jain Zar. They should release rangers soon too. Doom, a Runes of Fate ability, lets you re-roll failed wound rolls made against an enemy unit within 24”. Finally, Focus Will, a Runes of Fortune ability, gives a friendly psyker +2 to their cast rolls during the current phase. These only scrape the surface of what’s possible for Craftworlds Eldar psykers; you’ve got a great well of abilities to choose from. Since GW has decided to give us the middle finger with overpriced Howling Banshees and whatever-it-is the Dark Eldars got, I've decided to list all the decent proxies one could find on the Internet (or at least all I know about), in case it may help someone get the minis he wants. Jain Zar is the most active of all the Phoenix Lords in the war against the forces of Chaos. She has led hundreds of Howling Banshees to war on countless occasions, even mustering them from multiple Craftworlds at once. [1] Wargear Jainas Mor

Craftworlds Eldar Lore

Contemplating suicide, Iliathin lived alone in the temple for several years but was saved by an Eldar feral child Faraethil. Though initially shunning the girl, later when Faraethil was assaulted by Dark Eldar, Iliathin renamed himself Asurmen after the god Asuryan and saved her. Asurmen agreed to take the girl as his disciple and they left the planet, eventually gathering more like-minded followers. [5] It is recorded in the Asuryata that Baharroth final death will come during the Rhana Dandra, fighting alongside his fellow Aspect Warriors, the final battle between Chaos and the Aeldari of the material universe that will end with the destruction of both. In the Aeldari mythic cycles Asuryan, the Phoenix King, is the chief and greatest of all the Aeldari gods and the king of the Aeldari Pantheon. Asurmen, also known as the "Hand of Asuryan," was the penultimate warrior of all the Aeldari, for his extraordinary powers placed him at the Pinnacle of Might.

Contemplating suicide, Iliathin lived alone in the temple for several Terran years. His life was ultimately given new purpose by the feral Aeldari female child Faraethil. Though initially shunning the girl, when Faraethil was later assaulted by the hedonistic Aeldari survivors now calling themselves Drukhari, Iliathin renamed himself "Asurmen" after the god Asuryan and saved her. Asurmen agreed to take the girl as his disciple and they left the ruins of the Crone World of Eidafaeron behind, eventually gathering to them more like-minded survivors of the Fall. Ancient Phoenix Lord Armour - Asurmen's ancient suit of Exarch Armour makes use of vambraces that possess integrated Shuriken Catapults. These weapons are connected in such a way that they can be fired by either hand without sacrificing accuracy. This arrangement also leaves his hand free so that he can grasp his Diresword with both hands. First on the shopping list? A new wardrobe, of course! Woven from psycho-reactive materials that mould to their every movement, an Aspect Warrior’s sacred raiment offers protection beyond even the Guardians’ upgraded wargear. As such, every Aspect Warrior* now has the new Aspect Armour ability, which offers an impressive invulnerable save. It is extremely well written and well paced. and if there are any other books coming out (which I think there are) and they are written by Gav Thorpe, then I thoroughly look forward to reading them.” 5 stars If every model in an INFANTRY unit is on or in an Area Terrain feature with this trait, then it can either Hold Steady or it can Set to Defend (see below) when an enemy unit declares a charge against it.The Warp Spiders Aspect do not have a known Phoenix Lord. However, some claim that the "Wraith Spider" ( Lhykosidae), a similar person on the Kaelor Craftworld, is in fact the Phoenix Lord of the Warp Spiders. Others disagree with this due to the tendency of the Phoenix Lords to appear far earlier in history to help found their aspect. [4] Miniatures Current Miniatures It’s not just Fire Dragons who can access this new cooking equipment – the new Autarch can ‘borrow’ one when they don’t feel like lugging around a Dark Reaper’s missile launcher. Dragon fusion guns are an even deadlier prospect in an Autarch’s hands, and pair very well with the extra mobility of an Autarch jump generator. Arhra — "The fallen Phoenix who burns with the dark light of Chaos", founder of the Striking Scorpions Shrine [1d] Asurmen was the first Phoenix Lord. Prior to the Fall of the Eldar, Asurmen was the Eldar who led the Craftworlds away from the ancient Eldar homeworlds of their now lost interstellar empire and it was he who founded the first of the Aspect Warrior Shrines, the Shrine of Asur, upon a barren world of the same name his people initially settled. Asurmen found that he could not give up the Path of the Warrior to follow a different Eldar Path, for he desired to use his skills to protect what remained of his species after the birth of the Chaos God Slaanesh, "She Who Thirsts." From the Shrine of Asur sprang the first Aspect Warriors, and the Path of the Warrior was opened for the very first time to all Eldar. Those Eldar who wanted to follow this new path learned at the feet of their master, and in turn they assumed the mantle of Exarchs before spreading throughout the galaxy. The first Exarchs, the Asurya, the children of Asurmen, were the greatest of his students and went on to become the Phoenix Lords of the other Aspect Shrines, the first masters of the other specialised Eldar combat disciplines. Asurmen found that he could not give up the Path of the Warrior to follow a different Asuryani Path, for he desired to use his skills to protect what remained of his species after the birth of the Chaos God Slaanesh, "She Who Thirsts." From the Shrine of Asur sprang the first Aspect Warriors, and the Path of the Warrior was opened for the very first time to all Aeldari, who had now come to name themselves the "Eldar," a lesser name for a diminished people.

It is said that the Phoenix Lords will fight at the Rhana Dandra — the final battle between Chaos and the material universe. [1c] List of Known Phoenix Lords Scorpion Chainsword - First amongst the ritual weapons used by the Striking Scorpions Aspect, these distinctive Chainswords bolster the strength of their users considerably. Now, the Craftworlds Eldar fly through space, seeking survival in a hostile universe, and fighting death with every fibre of their being. Their Craftworlds – entire nations bound in semi-organic matter, powered by psychic energy from their Infinity Circuits – are the last vestige of this once great power. Aeldari society has completely changed, focused now on control and discipline, as they refuse to fall to the same terrors which blighted the Eldar of the past. Asurmen is capable of navigating the Webway thanks to his ship, the Stormlance. [Needs Citation] Images

The Sun Blade Shrine - Aspect Warriors of the Sun Blade shrine are known for their fierce counter-charges. Master Crafted Shuriken Pistol - Despite being the Phoenix Lord of a Warrior Aspect more renowned for delivering punishing short-range volleys of fire, Asurmen is a phenomenal opponent at close quarters, effortlessly switching between one-handed and two-handed fighting styles with the Sword of Asur. This master-crafted Shuriken Pistol serves him well as a secondary weapon when he favours a one-handed fighting style. There are a ton of Warlord Traits to select in 9th edition, with the absolute best being reserved for Custom Craftworlds. They get access to Expert Crafters, simply one of the best Warlord Traits available to Eldar players. With it, you’ll get to re-roll one hit and one wound roll each time a unit shoots or fights. That means your damage just got an incredible buff, giving you the ability to chip away at your foe with impunity. Eldar wouldn’t be Eldar without psychic powers, and we’re happy to report that this remains true in 9th edition. With three different Psychic Disciplines, there’s a colossal number of psychic abilities to choose from. Particularly noteworthy is Protect/Jinx, a Runes of Battle ability that gives a friendly unit +1 to saving throws or -1 to an enemy. As a species on the brink of extinction, beset on all sides by hostile forces, many Aeldari eventually walk the Path of the Warrior and take on the mantle of an Aspect Warrior. Whereas most Aeldari who take up arms do so in times of great crisis as the militia known as Guardians, those who walk the Path of the Warrior embrace the art of war fully, devoting their every breath to the pursuit of military perfection.
