What: One of the best known Belgian chocolatiers around, Godiva’s Christmas chocolates make lovely presents. Some extra design work has gone into this premium calendar, which unfolds like a book, unveiling 24 Godiva chocolates. The chocolate items inside this Fortnum & Mason Feasting Advent Calendar include chocolate mice, chocolate coins, a Christmas-spiced biscuit-filled chocolate bar, Marc de Champagne chocolate truffles, salted caramel hot chocolate, Merrilossus chocolate biscuits, as well as spiced orange and dark chocolate biscuits. Other highlights (for me) include Piccadilly Piccalilli, Dungeness Wood Sage Honey, and Caramelised Nuts. What: This one is a little more unconventional, but why not try something new this Christmas? Lakrids are alittle-known Danish confectionary and a firm favourite of liquorice lovers.The calendar includes 24 chocolate-coated gourmet liquorice balls in a variety of flavours including cookie butter and salted caramel. Layers of not-too-sweet chocolate complement herbal liquorice cores will make the lead-up to Christmas day that much more exciting. It's made in the same factory as dairy chocolate, so Hotel Chocolat can't guarantee it to be dairy-free, but the recipe itself doesn't contain dairy.
