The bods at Meaco are clearly on a roll at the moment because this is by no means the only great fan in its armoury – we look at in detail at three more of their fans below. Size : Bigger isn’t always better; the trade-off for a larger, more powerful fan (for example, one that's good for cooling an apartment) is usually more noise than, say, one that’s smaller but powerful enough to cool a bedroom while you sleep. However, if you're trying to cool a large room, you'll want a fan that can cope with that demand. Decide the correct air volume and pressure for choosing the fan from the manufacturers data and decide the total pressure for selecting the fan! It requires two 40 x 10 mm or 50 x 15 mm fans that blow air via two ducts on either side of the nozzle – it’s a cooling beast that might be a little overkill as an Ender 3 fan upgrade but will have you covered for all filament types, projects, and ambient temperatures.
After testing the Lasko FH500 Fan & Space Heater Combo Tower, we found it to be a great value, with features that can help make a larger room feel comfortable year-round. This 1,500-watt combined heater-fan is ETL-listed, meaning it's certified as meeting the requirement of widely accepted safety standards. It features a bladeless design and tip-over safety feature, so it should automatically shut off if it falls over. While testing, we found this four-speed fan effective at circulating the air, even as far as 20 feet. And at its highest setting, the sound is subtle enough to act as white noise. We also like that the unit has built-in storage for the included remote control. After testing the Vornado 660 Whole Room Air Circulator in our lab and at home, we found it to be a powerful option for any room. Small enough to sit on a desk or dresser, this fan is designed to circulate air up to 100 feet. And although it doesn’t oscillate, while testing in our lab, we noted that we felt the fan’s direct airflow up to 20 feet away. Plus, we loved that you can tilt it up to a 90-degree angle, from horizontal to vertical to point it where needed.Given that this fan is of the ‘personal’ variety, don’t bank on it cooling a whole room – even a small one – and certainly don’t bank on it purifying anything other than the air immediately around you. But if you’re after a personal high-end fan-cum-purifier that performs well and looks the part, then this one is a worthy, albeit pricy, contender. It’s vital to understand that tinkering with the PSU can be harmful to not just the power supply but also to you. If you are looking for a budget-friendly, compact, and adjustable fan, look no further than the Crane Oscillating Desk Fan. While testing this fan, we loved how the three adjustable angles (straight up, 45 degrees, or 90 degrees) allowed the air to focus on different areas of the room. Although you need to manually adjust the tilting feature, we appreciated being able to select the three speeds and programmable timer options via the digital display or by using the remote control. CFM—or cubic feet per minute—measures the amount of air a fan moves every 60 seconds. Generally, CFM depends on the fan’s motor and blades (their pitch, length, and shape). The higher the CFM, the more air a fan circulates. Fans with low CFMs are suitable only for small spaces. For a fan that cools a larger space without being too noisy (and is, on some settings, almost silent!), we recommend the Rowenta Turbo Silence Extreme+ Stand Fan. Although it’s not the most stylish or affordable option we tested, this powerful, sturdy, and effective oscillating fan is well worth its slightly higher price point.

Being able to tilt the fan up or down can also give you more options as to where to place it – and the same goes for a longer power cable. Petsfang: A go-to design for many tinkerers looking for an Ender 3 cooling fan upgrade, the Petsfang features a duo of ducts on either side nozzle to deliver optimal cooling and employs a 40×10 mm fan. However, these are generalizations. The ‘right’ fan speed for your particular Ender 3 Pro should be a matter of experimentation and dialing in until the print quality/strength lines up with your preferences/needs. The base Hydra is compatible with the Ender 3 and Pro, but you can also find remixes for a similar Ender 3 v2 cooling upgrade, such as this one from maker newsphreak. While using this fan at home for over six months, we felt that it definitely made a difference in keeping a room cool and preventing it from becoming stuffy on hot days. When used in the window, we found it useful to be able to operate each of the two fans separately, so one was bringing air in, and the other was pulling air out. However, we felt that the temperature settings on this fan were confusing, (especially since it is not an AC with a cooling feature), but the low-to-high speed setting is pretty straightforward and useful. When the weather was cooler, we continued to use it as a standalone fan on the floor to keep us cool after workouts. We've noticed no changes in the performance or appearance of the fan during this time.

We evaluate fans for safety, performance and ease of use. When evaluating performance, we use an anemometer in a windowless room to measure the speed of the airflow produced by the fan at a set distance at both its maximum and minimum settings. This fan does not oscillate but it can pivot up and down so you can point it where you need it. However, we couldn't feel the air even at just 6feet away. And although it would be a great addition to your vintage-style decor and does provide some cooling at a close range, we just don't think it's the best option to cool your space. We also tested 15 fans of these fans in our own homes for over six months. This testing not only helped us evaluate each fan's long-term performance but also allowed us to note how useful these fans were in real-world settings.
