The Sony X90J is nearly everything we’d want from a mid-range 4K LED-LCD TV. For the money, there are few TVs that can match it in terms of picture quality and feature set, making it top of its class for mid-range models. The evolution of TV screen technology allows you to sit closer to a 4K or 8K screen than older technology, like 1080p. The goal is to see the picture, not the pixels. TV size But behind the screen is Sony’s Acoustic Surface Audio+ tech, which uses three actuators behind the panel to create sound by vibrating the screen itself, creating a big open sound. There are two more actuators at the side to add width, while two woofer drivers add bass. But you'll pay a very high premium for this, compared to Samsung's highest-end 4K TVs (such as the QN90C, further down this list), which are very nearly at the same level of brightness and contrast. Still, you also get top-tier gaming features, excellent built-in sound, and fantastic One Connect box, which moves all the connections to a tidy separate box, with one cable carrying power and visuals to the TV.
With LGs' Game Optimizer feature included, the LG B3 is a real dark horse for gaming. The ability to tweak so many settings while playing really means you can tailor your gaming experience to whatever game you're playing. It also has 4K 120Hz, VRR, ALLM and Dolby Vision gaming support. It's just a shame that this is only on two of its four ports, but that's okay for the more casual among us.All that said, everyone's eyesight is a little different, and most TVs now are at least capable of 4k, sovisual acuity isn't really the best way to find the right distance.It should instead be usedto figure out the closest you can sit to a TV without hitting its resolution limitation.

If you're looking for the best TV for sound, first consider whether you need one. There are many more options available if you're willing to get a great-looking TV with mediocre sound and pair it with a soundbar or sound system instead. is now the de facto standard for any self-respecting TV, offering four times the resolution of 1080p. The hub has been expanded this year, with new settings including a Dark Room mode and a picture setting for sports games. High-definition TVs currently fall into three categories: Full HD/FHD, otherwise known as 1080p, which has 1,920 x 1,080 pixels on the screen; Ultra HD/UHD, more commonly referred to as 4K (3,840 x 2,160 pixels); and the highest of them all, 8K (7,680 x 4,320 pixels). Most salespeople will try and sell the biggest, fanciest television they have. Larger screens are great; if they have the budget and space.
