I’m debating whether it’s my skin getting used to the toner and it drawing out the impurities, or whether my skin isn’t liking it. Check the ingredients on the 'dupe' products, the Pixi tonic is a mild acid toner that exfoliates using glycolic acid.

It’s an exfoliating version so it really dried my skin out making it pretty sore, and it can only be used once a day, so I’d avoid this one if you’ve got sensitive skin or want a twice daily toner. However, when the product glided over my skin, I could feel a little bit of a more jelly like texture to the product. With the Aldi one, I haven’t found any issues with my makeup at all, if anything my makeup lasts longer and my face is a much smoother base. The toner is super easy to use, just apply directly onto cotton wool pads or reusable face pads – these much better for absorption and for the environment.So citric acid is an exfoliant, that can - just like other AHAs - gently lift off the dead skin cells of your skin and make it more smooth and fresh. I had seen that their version of the original was flying off the shelves, and they have now released a copy of the rose infusion.

Sodium hydroxide in itself is a potent skin irritant, but once it's reacted (as it is usually in skin care products, like exfoliants) it is totally harmless. Im not sure how permanent this product is in Aldi so if you can get your hands on the oil, I’d deffo recommend trying it. Sometimes we even applied the glow tonic on alternative days, depending on how our skin was feeling. I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a tall cylindrical Plastic Bottle with a screw top Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves. I however wasn’t a massive fan of that it took a very long time to eventually set though, but as I always used it at Night it wasn’t really that big of a deal.The Rose one is just a calming toner with no active ingredient like Glycolic or Hyalauronic acid hence my suggestion of the Garnier one.
