About this deal
I am using an old heat belt from years back plugged into a Vitopod heat control, set at 20c borrowed from the gardening department. It's important to regularly check the temperature sticker provided to ensure that the temperature is correct for the fermentation. The lower the belt is positioned on the fermenting container, the higher the wort or must temperature will rise. I use the fermenter belt with a temperature controller so it cycles on and off and keeps my home brew within a few degrees either side of my target temperature. It is necessary to move the position of the heating belt in the following ways to enable you to maintain the temperature you require.
The only exception to this is the tape we use which is made from PVC and needs to be thrown in the normal waste. This belt heater is the an essential piece of home brew equipment required to create a perfect beer, wine, cider or kombucha. These recent changes have been implemented by DPD country-wide – they are not specific to Happykombucha parcel deliveries. Most fermentation brew belts are simply a rubber strip with the heating element inside that has the flexible power cord threaded through. The superb design also allows it to fit around a pressure barrel to aid the start of the secondary fermentation.
Please do not throw away any broken goods until we have confirmed it is ok to do so as sometimes the couriers ask for the goods as part of their investigations.
If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase, or simply decide you no longer want the goods, we offer a 14 day money back guarantee. This Brew Belt is designed for use in the UK and comes with an integral lead fitted with a 3 pin UK mains power plug. Devices like brew belts and heat pads provide enough heat to keep the fermenter warm but not enough to warm the fermenter too much and distress the yeast. Please note that the maximum power of the heat belt is 35 watts, and it is only intended for use in cold weather to maintain a desirable temperature for your fermentation. In my setup it is indispensable, I have talked before about how important temperature control is so if you find you need some help keeping your home brew at a good temperature range a fermenter heater such as a heat mat or a brew belt may be an inexpensive way to do it.
