That is almost the largest carrying capacity in our test suite and the combo of that and its relatively low weight give it the best volume to weight ratio in our review. There’s plenty of positives with the material and it’s made of some really tough stuff, they’ll be no worries about ripping, tearing or general falling apart with the Fairview packs. For very tall, narrow-hipped people, we find that the pack often sits a little too high, but if you have an average to shorter torso with larger hips or simply prefer to wear your pack high on your hips, you may find the fitting of this bag to be right up your alley. The Osprey Fairview 55 is perfectly fine and comfortable when walking from the train station to the hostel, waiting for a cab, or performing any regular travel commuting that does not require you to walk with this bag for extended periods of time. For example, there is no internal travel organizer pouch for things like pens or holding a smartphone.

The Fairview should be suitable for most women, but the Farpoint larger sizing if the Fairview isn’t quite right for you. Bringing the Farpoint Day back into the picture and it’s exactly what you’d expect from a simple 13L daypack. Good point actually, there isn’t really a handle on the daypack, what I was thinking of is the top of the harness which is sort of handle-shaped.We absolutely adore the idea of the removable daypack, but Osprey's execution could use a little work. There are many compression straps scattered around the outside of the bag, which do a wonderful job of minimizing the overall volume; however, this pack pushes the limits as far as a carry-on goes. But the main pack is now carry-on size — in fact, it has the exact same dimensions as the Farpoint 40. If I decide to go with a check-in backpack then I’ll choose something like the Osprey Atmos, for example, which is a very strong candidate for me given its excellent harness system.
