About this deal

What I loved: The illustrations are full of vibrant colors, and feature the very expressive Bluey on her beach adventure. Bluey has been a phenomenal success since airing on ABC KIDS in October 2018, amassing legions of dedicated fans and taking the coveted position of being the most watched program ever on ABC iView, with over 170 million plays. Along the way she encounters a surfer, some pesky seagulls, a cast of crabs, a washed-up jellyfish and a rather large and nervous pelican. Bluey is the latest hit in my house, and I can tell why as it is an excellent series that can appeal to both children and adults.

It was one of the first books to based on a bluey episode with the same name along with Fruit Bat which came out the same day. I do think that the story works better as an episode, but it still far better than most tie in novels that I read to the kids. The surfer that Bluey meets is voiced be surfing legend Layne Beachley, who won the World Championship seven times and is also the chair of Surfing Australia. If you have some episodes you liked the least out of all episodes, rate it 1 even if you still like the episode. Firstly though, King Neptune Bingo releases Blueys legs from the mermaid tail, so she can walk for the day.

After regaling Mum with her heroic solo adventure, they walk back along the beach hand in hand and Bluey observes that she too enjoys walks on her own. It is subtle enough that some kids won't pick up on the melancholy aspects, but they will still love the book. Pretending to be a mermaid who has finally got her legs for the day, she embarks on a precious solo adventure, following Mum’s footprints along the shoreline.Though they traditionally feature a lavish dinner event, this year’s Abias ceremony was livestreamed on YouTube on Wednesday afternoon amid the coronavirus lockdown. From the thrill of discovering a hermit crab to the disappointment of a melted ice cream cone, the book perfectly captures the joys and sorrows of being a kid. However, she luckily spies Mums footsteps re-emerge in the sand and gives herself a big-mermaid-girl pep talk to creep around the scary pelican! All of these nuggets make this book worth reading, but there’s not much that tops your toddler getting particularly excited at Bluey’s reunion with mum.

At Books2Door, we believe that reading is a fundamental skill that every child should have to help improve their vocabulary, grammar, and critical thinking skills. Our team is made up of book lovers who are dedicated to sourcing and providing the best books for kids. Bluey is an Emmy award-winning Australian children's television programme currently showing on Disney+ in the UK that celebrates play.Along the way, she has a series of encounters that will both excite and test her in her first solo adventure. Her favourite games are ones that involve lots of other kids and grown-ups (especially her dad) and she mainly likes to pretend she’s a grown up doing grownup things herself.

Each page should feel as sudden assault to the readers sensors with how bright the colours used are, and how they are contrasted against the textured patterns of some of the backgrounds (think lines, swirls, patterns etc), and yet, it somehow just effortlessly works so well together. Her youngest asked me to read this book which is set on the beach when Bluey and her family go there. When mum goes for a walk by herself along the beach, Bluey runs to catch up with her, keen to share a shell she has found. The illustrations are bright and colorful, and do an excellent job of capturing the fun and excitement of a day at the beach. Bluey is trying to follow Mom down the beach but different sea creatures keep getting in Bluey’s way! It’s a great book about kids getting a little independence and overcoming fears about things that they don’t have to fear and learning to be brave. While widely popular, I was still surprised to find this element in the book, but loved the surprise none-the-less.
