About this deal

Luckily for me I love gourmand fragrances but for other that dislike sweet perfumes, this is obviously not for them. When I sniff my skin up close, I can detect a subtle hint of spices, and what smells like the tiniest hint of cocoa butter lotion (which might be a great thing to layer with this -- it feels like they would blend well together).

It does open with a blast of alcohol, but that disappears very quickly, and it morphs into a beautiful milk chocolate-vanilla scent, pretty much identical to the oil. I have the 50ml EDP not the oil so this probably isn't a problem for anyone who has the oil based version but the perfume version has a VERY strong astringent smell when you first spray it, strong enough to burn my nose and make me cough a bit, which is a little inconvenient when you have to spray a lot since It isn't very strong or long lasting. There's some sort of dry nuttiness (reminiscent of brazil nuts) as well that I've noticed in other synthetic chocolate scents like Somethin' Special's Chocolate Drizzle. While I don't care for the smell itself, I must give the oil some credit for its lasting power and projection; I applied it before bed last night to just ONE inner elbow and I am still catching it in the air this morning. Definitely not a strong sillage but it lasts quite long, it’s about the performance that I expect from a perfume oil.I do notice a plastic like note up close but this could be the musk that I'm not familiar with, not sure. After some hours the scent becomes a subtle spicy chocolate, I use chocolate loosely as I’m struggling to find it half the time. A few hours in it actually reminds me of Hilde Soliani Donna Sentenza for some odd reason - maybe since they both smell synthetic.

I mostly get vanilla and chocolate, not synthetic smelling, not juvenile, and not headache-inducing! I'm definitely going to be wearing this more come fall and winter, but for now this will be an easy reach bedtime fragrance. So, if you want to smell like you've just demolished an entire share bar of chocolate and still have some melted round your mouth then, sure, pick this up!

After the drydown it becomes a little more interesting because the musk gets more noticeably and it gets less foody and more soapy. It smells like a chocolate marshmallow and the dry down brings out the musk and amber and with those notes combined, it smells so delicious.

I'm mainly getting notes of a VERY edible Vanilla and Chocolate and that's pretty much what I mostly get to my nose. I just got it and can't tell exactly how long it lasts but it's not a super deep scent just sort of lightly hot chocolate but if you like gourmands you'll probably like it. If you don't like it I'm sure there will be someone in your life more than willing to take it off your hands, just make sure you instruct them this is not ingestible! Shame about the sillage and projection because the scent itself is nice - but it could be a good one for layering with other fragrances. It's cheap, it's exceptionally sweet however, it's not turning heads or even noses, and you can get more complex fragrances that last longer on the skin at Bath and Body Works. Satisfy your sweet cravings with the irresistible allure of Choco Musk, a 6ml Perfume Oil Ittar that transcends the boundaries of fragrance. It reminds me of childhood with cheap plasticky things that were so say chocolate, like scented pens, bubbles, those plastic food items like a little cooked chicken, kids makeup. Choco Musk's sweet and expressive tones of vanilla, chocolate, and caramel bring you a gourmet fragrance with the help of musk.

This smells strongly of vanilla extract, not really the chocolate chip cookie smell everyone is raving about. This one was included free in a lot of gourmands I bought online- and my first reaction was: What the sweet hell is this? Shaghaf Oud is a quite strong perfume but the Choco Musk outlasted Shaghaf Oud on my skin, it is still present 12 hours later. I have the little oil rollerball and the spray, and I think they will be good together, since one has better longevity, and the other has better projection.

Whether it's the warmth of summer or the coziness of winter, let this fragrance be your year-round temptation, teasing and charming those around you. This smokey smell is a lot stronger on clothes compared to on my skin where the chocolate was more forward.
