About this deal

I have been using this for 10 or 12 days and have only suffered one bite and that was while pulling weeds out from between tall plants late in the afternoon . So for the purposes of testing, unfortunately I am the perfect test case for these little critters and the repellents we have bought along with us. I bought this product on the basis that it was marketed as family friendly, even for pregnant women, and it does not contain DEET.

Made using advanced time-release technology, once applied to the skin the repellent is released slowly throughout the day to give up to 12 hours of protection. Pro-Equine uses only high quality ingredients, sourced in Britain if possible, and all products conform to FEI regulations. When animals constantly rub their hair the skin can become very sore and eventually break open to reveal sore areas where bacteria can thrive. Scotland is not unique with its biting beasties population but, certainly, many people will have heard of the fierce Scottish midge. Ho acquistato questo repellente per un viaggio in Scozia (dovevo visitare anche posti fuori città) ma non ho trovato alcun insetto quindi non l'ho usato. This 100% natural spray contains essential oils known to deter annoying flying insects such as midges, bots, horse flies, black flies and face flies and can be used on horses and ponies but is also good to use on dogs. It's kept the Little Biting B*******s at bay on all our walking and camping trips and evenings outside (UK) better than any other product I've ever used.

A DEET free formula containing Saltidin, it provides increased protection from midges and smaller biting insects.

Again, this product (Trek Midge and Tick) uses the active ingredient Saltidin to deter the midges and claim a 12 hour life as it has a slow release process.

I personally think I need to re-apply whatever stuff I test much more often than the manufacturers recommendations.

Apparently, if you are particularly appetising and sensitive to midges then some of the bites will come up into rather large blisters, so guess what I have all over my ankles? Unfortunately i forgot to reapply as they werent bothering me and had a few bites in the morning, bur that was obviously my fault. Devised and made in Scotland (where we know about midges), it keeps the midges away and can moisturise your skin at the same time. The label states not to eat, drink or smoke after using, I'm sorry but how is it practical to not let anything touch your mouth after you've sprayed this stuff on you?

Mrs TentLife got bitten by something (not in Scotland), and whilst at the show she was given one of their bite relief products to try. I am very happy with this product and will make sure I keep a plentiful supply of this and maybe won't need so many antihistamine pills in future! The following occur naturally in the essential oils in this product – listed here in case of allergies: myrcene, citronellal, geranyl acetate, nerol, limonene, citral. Buzz Off Spray Although it says this repellent is for mosquitoes I have found it to be useful against Scottish midge.
