However besides being rushed I did think that the two characters worked well together in a relationship. There were too many time jumps where the author told us about the couples relationship rather than showed - made it very difficult for me to actually care about these two? Any ways there were times I really wanted to jump kick Hunter for his treatment of Marley / Bambi but in a way I could understand where his head was at, and to be honest for someone who has that amount of guilt within them it could have been SO much worse! I hate that she decides to leave bc of Hunter and I hate it even more that she decides to stay bc of him. I think if it would have been marketed more like an “Ugly Love” by Colleen Hoover, I wouldn’t have had such a visceral reaction to all of the atrocities Hunter commits but because it was marketed(on TikTok by the author) as this great love story, it was so disappointing.

She is perceived to be brilliant, warm and a strong leader who spends every waking moment tending to her patients. As someone who actually has this phobia, this was extremely triggering, even though it was only briefly mentioned.
