Jeff, around the 4:40 mark in your video, you connect with an iPhone and the car dispay shows up with the dialog about using CarPlay in the car. It eliminates the need for cables to link your Phone to the car, resulting in a cleaner-looking interior without the clutter of wires.

This was the most important thing for me in terms of daily use, if it took longer than my bluetooth to connect for music etc, I just wouldn't have bothered. I have the carlinkit 3 for the past year and a half and yes it works great on CarPlay Apple, but on long journeys it will drop as the phone will heat up because of the continuous connection, just keep updating the software every 3 months which is really easy. Couple of times I've had clipping of the music stream but assumed that was weak phone signal but music carried on playing regardless. does not support converting wired Android Auto to CarPlay, nor does it support converting wired CarPlay to Android Auto.

So far I've only done actual testing with my Android phone (this adaptor supports both AA/ACP via their own protocols unlike previous versions) and here's what I've observed.
