for me extreme horror needs those things or else it feels like torture porn for the sake of torture porn which is not why i read extreme horror. I really liked her and thought she was a great character to carry the story, rather than someone further up the hierarchy. Fantastic start to a crime series and actually quite glad I am a bit late to it as I don't have to wait for the author to bring out the next one as it's already out! No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins. Jefferson is haunted by these words but in this book this isn't really followed up and though this is a series I don't expect Jefferson to join in on the madness that his father was. Bret is the most vile, abhorrent, sadistic, depraved excuse for a man, with absolutely no morals and no fucks to give! It's quite disturbing, I really was imagining how terrifying it would be,it's the type of book you lose time in reading.

Oh, and you've been warned, so if you don't like it, if it's too much for you, don't go crying and taking it out on the author! Also the fact that the daughter would just side with this guy that told her mother to do these things is absurd. If the author had given his first draft of this story to a modern day detective to proof read regarding what would be plausible, this could’ve been a much tighter story in terms of how a realistic investigation would progress.
