About this deal

Among the notable contenders in this realm are Arctic’s thermal paste offerings: MX-4, MX-5, and MX-6. As thermal pastes go, MX-series compounds are reliable and perform better than most pre-applied thermal pastes. That’s after just under two years (20 months), which is an extremely short time in a market as stagnant as the thermal paste market. The tube of MX-5 I got is terrific, but I got the one which came with the spatula and have used that every application because of the consistency.

Similar to the MX-4, the MX-5 also consists of carbon microparticles that fill the microscopic gap between the two surfaces i.com/ARCTIC-MX-5-incl-Spatula-Non-Conductive/dp/B08T621LGC I'm bit surprised it comes with a spatula, I have always just used the large pea method and never had issues.

It has slightly better conductivity than the previous MX-4 variant and also supports a wider temperature ranges.

Current findings from our permanent quality assurance tests show that certain batches of our MX-5 thermal compound contain anomalies in consistency and shelf life. Please keep in mind that the thermal conductivity of the thermal paste is much lower than the thermal conductivity of metals likes aluminum or copper since aluminum has 205 W/mK and copper has 385 W/mK whereas the majority of the thermal pastes have up to 5 W/mK ratings with a few ranging up to 14 W/mK. Having put it on and clamping the block on it does work, no crazy temps so it must be as designed/intended. The company is known for its range of products designed to improve the cooling efficiency and overall performance of computer components such as CPUs, GPUs, and case fans.

There is no risk for already applied thermal paste, as this concerns the application of the thermal paste. This leads to low thermal resistance, guaranteeing that heat is dissipated efficiently from the CPUs, GPUs or power semiconductor components. Our review unit of the ARCTIC MX-5 came in a medium-sized brown corrugated cardboard box from the company's American offices in Quinby, South Carolina, USA. We don’t know exactly what was behind the discontinuation of the MX-5 thermal paste, but it was apparently easier to release a model with new naming.Arctic Cooling products are popular among PC enthusiasts, gamers, and professionals who are looking to optimize their computer’s thermal performance.
