About this deal

Matt Murdock has done battle with Marvel's most maddening villains - but when the Jester enters the fray, the rules change forever.

Miller’s only fail, on the other hand, are the unnecessary and completely moronic comic reliefs, in which inherently half-witted characters like Turk, Iron First or Luke Cage are propelled into unfathomable heights of imbecility, and an intelligent and compassionate man like Franklin Nelson becomes the butt of every idiotic schoolyard joke. My criticism of his run lies solely with the fact that he wasn’t also providing the story for these issues.Daredevil loses his radar sense in this one and tries to buffalo the baddies into believing he can see. Unlike the show, the Silver Age Daredevil is cheesy, over-the-top, and hits you over the head with a gadget-filled billy-club of goofiness. The first 41 issues of Daredevil are here, with him battling villains galore and even hero battles against Namor, Thor, Spider-Man, Ka-Zar, and even the Fantastic Four (the guy pretty much took on everyone at some point or other). Would recommend this being the starting point for anyone looking to getting into reading Daredevil comics.

This is Miller's best (early) writing on Daredevil, where he introduces just about the entirety of the modern Daredevil mythos, including Elektra, Stick, the Kingpin as Daredevil villain, and Bullseye as arch-villain.Then David Micheline wrote another issue or two, which admittedly was a little better, but still not very good. for all of the potential that exists from the jump conceptually speaking, stan lee's writing limits the first 42 issues of daredevil to a low rent spider-man morph. Miller also brought back classic Daredevil nemesis Bullseye, who had previously gone insane after suffering from a brain tumor. A tumour in Bullseye's brain may be responsible for the further degradation of his mental state, as explained to Daredevil and to us by a sexy oncologist. Since Miller is writing the series, he relied on Klaus Janson who complimented Miller’s art so well, for inking and finishing up his rough sketches.

Matt Murdock has no choice but to leave behind everything he's ever known, and Elektra is the last vestige of his former life. He wants to test a time-displacement weapon, an inventive plot but secondary to the simmering subplots of Foggy and Deborah Harris' burgeoning romance coupled with Matt finally getting serious with Karen now that Foggy's affections lie elsewhere.

Frank Miller’s spellbinding scripts and pulse-pounding pencils mark one of Daredevil’s greatest eras – but will the Kingpin and Bullseye’s efforts rob the Man Without Fear of everything he holds dear? Stan Lee and crew create a good-time Daredevil battling a mix of mafioso types and full on absurd villains. Tedious at times due simply to its bulk, this omnibus is a great start for many readers wanting to discover Daredevil.

This 800 pages volume starts with the issues penciled by Frank Miller and after a couple of issues, move into the stories that written by him. Stories that are intricately connected to the loose story threads that were made before Miller wrote on the book and he ties those ends up beautifully in the end. While many of the storylines continue to be straightforward action serials there are more complex episodic storylines and some good longer form conflicts with Kingpin and Electra. Matt Murdock has done battle with Marvel’s most maddening villains – but when the Jester enters the fray, the rules change forever. The tension drives Matt to reveal his secret to Karen Page – but rather than bringing her closer, this revelation pushes her away! On the back, a shadowy stylised figure, not much more than a silhouette, representing where - who knows how consciously or unconsciously - Miller's hand wanted to go, and will go from Ronin on. From Sin City in Dark Horse, then Dark Knight in DC, and finally, we reached the shores of Marvel with Daredevil. Esta etapa es también importante porque marca un antes y un después ya no solo para el personaje, sino también para el autor y para el género de superhéroes en general.
