About this deal

Greg saying that sometimes in later seasons of TV shows, a new main character is introduced to bump up the ratings is easily a reference to shows like Scooby-Doo, Fairly Oddparents and the Brady Bunch. I really like the part in this book when the school does a Balloon Brigade, the students all get a helium filled balloon and the kid with the furthest traveling balloon gets a prize.

Then he talks about the school's Balloon Brigade, which is a school contest to see how far a student's balloon can travel, and how the prize is a giant bag of candy corn. He practices the French Horn but hates it and wants to quit, angering Frank who tells Greg that he can't because that was an expensive instrument and he has to honor his commitment to the instrument.I feel like this book really just talks about how parents act, which makes me connect in a lot of ways. At school, Greg turns in his balloon and wins the candy corn, which is discovered and eaten by the family's pet pig. Greg then talks about in the 3rd grade, Greg wrote a poem, and sent it to the National Poetry Council, but turns out that everyone can have the poems in the book.

I love how Greg is still being Greg, growing up just like one of us believing all the silly lies that adults tell and trusting his older brother, Rodrick, in all the silliest, stupidest stuffs that he keeps telling Greg (yeah we all have been there! This is the first book since Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Cabin Fever where the month in the beginning is the same as the month at the end of the previous book. Susan keeps putting the pressure on Greg to do something new other than video games while also introducing him to college. This may be due to an editing conflict or a large influx of vandalism or spam that may result from being a highly visited page. Jeff Kinney said since the Long Haul's release, he wouldn't make the books continuous anymore, as of Greg getting his room back, and the Pig not wearing Manny's shorts or walking on his hind legs. At home, Greg finds an off-limits bag of chocolate chips and realizes that he will get in trouble after eating them.

He talked about his process, but also why he loved comics, and how he was never going to have Greg age, because like Bart Simpson, it's better if he's perpetually the same age. I think that this book is funny because everything possible goes wrong for Greg (the boy in the story). The only thing he’s good at is playing video games, but his parents want him to broaden his horizons by doing something—anything! He gets bad grades at school, plays video games all day, joins a band jut to get invited to a party, etc. Get ready to see the Wimpy Kid world in a whole new way with the Awesome Friendly Kid series, written by Greg Heffley’s best friend, Rowley Jefferson. Maddox accuses Greg of having stolen one of his Legos (one of the tiny useless blocks, which stuck to Greg's arm without him noticing, which results in his mother frisking Greg), and Susan ends the playdate in disappointment.

He feels guilty when he tries to see Alex Aruda's test answers, because he knows that all his relatives see him when he cheats. This book reveals that the Pig can get sick if he eats candy corn, but doesn’t get sick if he eats gummy worms. This is also the second odd-numbered book that doesn't have three words in its title (this book only has two words in its title). The thing is that I don't get parents, they get mad or disappointed at me randomly, which sometimes really annoys me. While going to get paper towels, he finds gummy worms and comes up with the idea to make a horror movie. They were going to make a horror movie about gummy worms (man eating worms) killing this man and his wife, long story short Rowley and Greg go outside to shoot a scene with the worms in the yard, they put gummy worms on the ground.
