The exhibition ‘Givenchy: Thirty Years’, which ran from 11 May to 2 October 1982 at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, took place a year before the retrospective dedicated to Yves Saint Laurent at the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

After initially focusing on accessories, she presented the house’s first fashion collection in 1988, quickly transforming Prada into one of the world’s most influential luxury brands. After Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent, Prada, Vivienne Westwood, Versace and Chloé, Givenchy is the ninth in a series of high-end, clothbound books that offer an unrivalled overview of the collections of the world’s top fashion houses through original catwalk photography.
