About this deal

Alizeh wants nothing to do with Cyrus, or his deal with Iblees. But with no means of escaping Tulan, and with the tantalizing promise of fulfilling her destiny as the heir to the Jinn, she's forced to wonder whether she can set aside her emotions and finally become the queen her people need. He‘s definitely the next Aaron Warner… I‘m calling it now. God I love morally grey characters so freaking much. I like 𝐴𝑙𝑖𝑧𝑒ℎ. In the first book, I didn't feel so much for her but in this book her character development was great. She can be a badass but she is soft-hearted too. I want to know about her in the next book. She is a very interesting character. The fact that she didn't know how to eat bread killed me but I understand why she didn't know it. And it breaks my heart. clears throat* *unrolls scroll* I here by decree that from this day forward, I am no longer team Kamran, but now stan Cyrus, due to the annoying-ness of character Kamran exposed, and the excessive amazing-ness Cyrus showed us about himself in These Infinite Threads. It is to be noted that if Cyrus endgame is not the result of the following book, I might have a complete and utter meltdown. Thank you. *rolls up scroll*

This is a gorgeous book. It’s tender and fierce, beautiful even as it depicts some ugly truths. Tahereh’s prose is passionate and honest, unsentimental and big-hearted. The very best books move you to reconsider the world around you, and this is one of those. I truly loved it.”— Nicola Yoon, #1 New York Timesbestselling author of Everything, Everythingand The Sun is Also a Star AND THE ROMANCE. IT HAD ME BLUSHING, STUTTERING, HYPERVENTILATING. WHO'S KAMRAN?? ALL IK IS CYRUS, MY POOR BEAN, MY SLIGHTLY BURNT CINNAMON ROLL, MY COOKIE DOUGH PRINCESS. I LOVELOVELOVE HIM. ALIZEH AND HIM ARE JUST JAW-DROPPINGLY AMAZING I WANT TO COME TO THEIR WEDDING. I SWEAR, IF THIS TURNS OUT TO BE ONE OF THOSE STAR-CROSSED ROMANCES I'M GOING TO UGLY CRY, AND TRUST ME, YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE THAT. i still don't love the writing style being so drawn out and overly complicated. it was never difficult to read (whereas book one i think it slightly was) but this book uses such big words and drawn-out turns of phrase to describe really simple things. i felt it worked in some places but really flopped in others. A masterfully constructed novel. The characters are beautifully developed and authentic. [Shirin’s] voice is fierce, funny, vulnerable, and honest. Mafi’s novel challenges readers to ponder their own beliefs, assumptions, and actions. And, also reminds us of the captivating bliss of first love.”— Nerdy Book Club The writing, the world-building, the character development, etc were just mwah. Listen I'm not exaggerating.

alizeh. i liked her in the first book but in this one it was such a downgrade it’s actually insane. it seems that all her person does is either get sad about how she didnt want this destiny/prophecy/whatever and would rather look after sheep (legit what she said btw) or say “how dare you” to cyrus multiple times a day (or an hour, since, you know, the entire book is set during 1 day). think im joking? well i am not! i actually counted how many times she says “how dare you” throughout the book. wanna take a guess? Alizeh’s world is turned upside down when murderous Tulanian King Cyrus spirits her away, intending to marry her at the behest of the devil, Iblees. okay so first of all, the dagger to throat scene.. ❗️did infact happen ❗️ now whether you call me a professional prophecy person or what 🤭🤭 just read the first chapter on fierce reads..yall im dying. kamran is literally on the verge of death and he is thirsting after alizeh

now onto cyrus. out of the three main characters, he was the one whom i liked the most (which really isnt saying much tbh). he, too, is your every love interest put together, but the slightly less annoying version. The This Woven Kingdomsequelcontinues to bring to life one of the most magical and eye-opening fantasy stories through exciting love triangles and high stakes that only Mafi can make." — Cosmopolitani’m not even joking; the cover is speaking to me “there will be a very hot, sexy, mesmerizing, deafening ‘dagger to throat’ scene” yk im delirious when i start pulling out Dance Mom analogies. but it's late and i just want to rave about this book and about this MAN so all of you go read it immediately so i can fill the word count with spoilers pls and thank u. This story holds a mirror up to the ugly reality of religious bigotry. That disturbing truth, however, is offset by a portrait of a strong Muslim teen girl who defies stereotypes on multiple levels. Shirin insists on her right to approach life on her own clear-eyed terms, granting compassion to the deserving and an education to those who need it.”— Bulletin of the Center for Children’s Books With the heat of a kiss, the walls between Alizeh, the long-lost heir to an ancient Jinn kingdom, and Kamran, the crown prince of the Ardunian empire, have crumbled. And so have both of their lives.

Tahereh Mafi soars to new heights with A Very Large Expanse Of Sea. A singular new novel from one of YA’s brightest voices.”— Entertainment Weekly And just so everyone knows. They’re the definition of enemies to lovers. He literally throws her off a cliff!!! And she made a deal with his mother to kill him?!?! And they say romance is dead. the plot. i was complaining to my friend earlier today about this book and when she asked me what even is the plot of the book i fr couldnt answer. alizeh becoming the queen of jinn? yeah maybe. alizeh & co fighting the devil? can be. there are little pieces here and there but there is no one big, interesting plot that would make this whole book worth reading. idk maybe the author wanted to focus on romance rather than the plot but if that’s the case then… i have already made my opinion on the romance aspect known lol. the characters. where does one even start here… first off, i skipped all of kamran’s chapters except the first one (i skimmed through it) because he’s annoying af. i tried, i really did, to read them but he’s just too insufferable for me im sorry. there’s absolutely nothing about this character that hasnt been done before, he’s literally a combination of all basic tropes that are popular nowadays, and this amalgamation is not even well-done. After reading This Woven Kingdom, I felt a little worried about this sequel but was willing to give it a chance because I love Alizeh’s character (and because I already owned the book). I’m pleasantly surprised that These Infinite Threads was better than expected even though I have a couple of issues with it.

alizeh’s last chapter actually tore my heart out of my chest and stomped on it til that mf was unidentifiable and my gosh i can’t wait for tahereh mafi to do it againEven though not a ton happened, this book still managed to be AMAZING and also very entertaining!! I gave it a 4☆ rating because I did wish there was more actiony scenes. if you didn't like shatter me and hated all those things i mentioned above? (hi paige) read this book I want to have a pet firefly, live in a whimsical kingdom of waterfalls and dragons and clear skies, and fall in love with the king. But, well.... hmm... then again, I do not want to be haunted by the devil. Or have to lead a revolution.
