A very fond farewell was said to the Revd Jennifer Brown and husband Chris as they left the Parish on Sunday May 11th after some four years in Kidlington.
Though continuing her role as tutor at the Cuddesdon School of Theology and Ministry, Jen is taking up the new post of Diocesan Science Missioner and will be attached to the Churn Benefice south of Oxford.
Although a hugh loss to us, this role is right up Jennifer's street. Before her ordination, she worked as a medical science writer, and continued when ordained to have strong interests in relationship between science and religion, and a particular sensitity for the interaction of Christian theology and animal welfare. Indeed, several of the sermons she preached at St Mary's on this theme can be found on on the website of the Anglican Society for Animal Welfare.
She was presented by the Rector with a stole, a token of our thanks for all she and Chris have done in the Parish and of our affection for them both.
