On Sunday 9th February three stalwarts of the congregation at St Mary's Kidlington received letters of thanks and commendation from the Bishop of Oxford.
John Amor, Bilham Woods and Ian Howdill are pictured here receiving them from the Rector.
John, as historian and author, has done much to record the history of St Mary's (and of Kidlington as a whole) and to bring that history to innumerable members of the congregation and visitors.
Bilham and Ian have devoted enormous amounts of their time, skill and knowledge to preserving and enhancing the fabric of St Mary's, and indeed also of St John's and St Mary's Hampton Poyle.
Bilham celebrates exactly 50 years of being a member of the congregation in 2014, John has been here "rather longer", and Ian about the same.
Cakes were cut later to a chorus of For they are jolly good fellows — which, clearly, nobody can deny.
