HOUSE OF BISHOP'S PASTORAL STATEMENT ...
Please read the clergy team's response to the recent House of Bishop's Pastoral Statement

THEOLOGY SERIES 11.30am 12th Jan
Kidlington Theology Forum starts its 2020 series The Cutting Edge of Faith: Issues in Ethics and Public Policy. The first in the 2020 series of theology talks will be at 11.30am in St Mary's Kidlington on Sunday 12th. Dr Martin Hodson will talk on Climate Change: Fact or Fiction?
TEA TALK 3pm 12th Jan
The first of the Tea talks is on Sunday 12th January at 3pm. Henry Brougham, Chairman of Kidlington Historical Society, will talk on Kidlington: celebrating our history and community from 1220 to 2020! There will be tea and cakes afterwards. Yo Davies would be very grateful for offers of help making cakes and for serving tea.
WEEK OF PRAYER for Christian Unity Jan 18th-25th
This is observed from the 18th to the 25th January, the octave of St Peter and St Paul. Details of the noon prayer cycle to follow.
FELLOWSHIP MEAL: Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 22nd Jan
Kidlington Baptist church will again host this event at 7pm. The speaker will be Susanna Brouard, who will talk on Unusual Kindness. Tickets £5 from Pam Cooper, who will need numbers by the 19th Jan. (It is St Mary's turn to cater: could you cook a main course or pudding?)
CANONS of CHRIST CHURCH 25th Jan
Both Felicity and Rosemary are being installed as Honorary Canons of Christ Church Cathedral. The ceremony will take place during evensong on Sat 25th Jan, which is at 6.00pm.
800 FESTIVAL LAUNCH SERVICE 26th Jan
A celebratory service of the word with Bishop Steven and village community representatives on the theme of Sing and new Song. Please make sure you are there and invite friends and neighbours. No services in St Johns or Hampton Poyle on that day. 8am communion still runs. if you have contacts with any community groups or organisations feel free to invite them to send a rep and a symbol of their group to be brought up to the front. All groups & organisations are welcome.

CANDLELIT GALA DINNER AND SILENT AUCTION Sat 1st Feb
This black-tie event is fast approaching. Please buy your tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Tickets available by emailing meghann_hewett@hotmail.com or speaking to Meghann at Church. Also, a couple of other requests: 1) If anyone has a slow cooker we could borrow for this event, please speak to or email Meghann and 2) Please can you collect lids from jars (any size) and give them to Meghann as you get them. Thank you!
