HELP WITH OPEN SPACE SERVICE
The theme on the 19th January is Br Roger and Taize. We are hoping to sing much of the service using music from Taize with a Eucharist. These are mostly very simple to sing. We don't usually have a choir on Open Space Sundays so we are hoping to gather a group of singers who would like to be involved. Please can you let Jane Hemmings know if you would be interested in singing or helping to plan and lead the service. Jane.hemmings@oxford.anglican.org 07891 977383
NATIVITY CHRISTMAS CARDS
Our Christmas cards using images from last years live nativity and camel event are now on sale, with proceeds going to the Kidlington and Hampton Poyle 800 fund. Packs of 5 for £5 or 10 for £8. We would be hugely grateful if lots of people could send these as their family Christmas cards.
KIDLINGTON AND HAMPTON POYLE 800 SOUVENIR BOOKS
will be on sale from December 17th. This is a glossy 32 page book produced to celebrate the octo centenary. It has some accessible history, lots of pictures, and also celebrates life in both villages now, highlighting all that goes on for local residents. It will make an excellent stocking filler or a valued small gift for your friends. At £5 a copy it is a bargain! We take delivery of the books on Dec 16th and are collecting pre-orders from now on. Sign the list at the back of church to order your copies in advance. Thank you.
KIDLINGTON 800 GALA DINNER AND SILENT AUCTION
To kick off the Kidlington 800 year we are holding a Gala Dinner with a Silent Auction and are looking for a range of "lots" for the silent auction. This might include things like offers of time (e.g. some hours of gardening/ironing), items/tickets donated by local businesses or attractions, one off or "things money can't buy" opportunities like signed objects or experiences that are not normally available. We would also like one "big ticket" item, for example the use of a holiday house for a week. Do you know anyone who could offer any of these items? Please get in touch with Meghann if you can help or know people who could!
NOTICEBOARDS
You may have noticed that we have been doing some work on the noticeboards in the porch and at the back of Church. We are aiming to tidy up that area and keep it updated with information to welcome newcomers to the church as well as providing information for members of the congregation. There will be space on a board for people to put up posters to advertise church and community events but we would ask that posters are not put up on any of the other boards. We also ask that leaflets/posters/sign-up sheets are not left on either of the two tables. There will be clipboards on one of the boards for any sign-up sheets that need to be filled in. At the moment it is a work in progress, so please bear with us! If you have any questions please see either Anne Bardsley or Meghann Hewett.
THANK YOU
At this time of Harvest thank you all so much for all your gifts for the Foodbank. This is the time of year when the boxes in the Foodbank store fill up again for the coming months, enabling us to make parcels for those in need for so many reasons. The difference a parcel makes is obvious and a lifeline of support when life is very difficult. Alongside Harvest time the gifts that come regularly from you are soon put to use; these top ups are vital to us. Thank you also to the several of you who have volunteered to help with the Harvest sort, because other churches and schools are very generous too and your help is so welcome. Thank you all, The Foodbank Team.
KIDLINGTON COMMUNITY SINGERS
are pleased to say that £277 was raised at our concert last Saturday, and the proceeds are being donated to the Kidlington 800 fund. Thankyou to all who came to support us.

THE SAFE SPACE GROUP
is a supportive fellowship and Bible group. The Safe Space Group offers a space to meet fortnightly both for fellowship and to study matters arising from faith and the bible. We aim to keep numbers between 5 and 8 members as this group particularly meets the needs of people who want a quieter experience, one where we can reflect on our lives and how our beliefs touch our daily living.

We usually agree a theme for these groups to provide continuity and focus. For example, we have examined St John's gospel, we have focused on prayer and currently are thinking about various Saints, what they stand for and what they have to teach us. So if you find some of our church groups rather daunting to attend, want a quiet reflective space to explore your faith and how it challenges or supports your life, the Safe Space Group is for you. We'd love to have you working with us. Contact Felicity (felicityscroggie@gmail.com, 01865 372230 or 07821542182). meghann_hewett@hotmail.com, 01865 580166
