KIDLINGTON 800 GALA DINNER AND SILENT AUCTION
To kick off the Kidlington 800 year we are holding a Gala Dinner with a Silent Auction and are looking for a range of "lots" for the silent auction. This might include things like offers of time (e.g. some hours of gardening/ironing), items/tickets donated by local businesses or attractions, one off or "things money can't buy" opportunities like signed objects or experiences that are not normally available. We would also like one "big ticket" item, for example the use of a holiday house for a week. Do you know anyone who could offer any of these items? Please get in touch with Meghann if you can help or know people who could!
THANK YOU
At this time of Harvest thank you all so much for all your gifts for the Foodbank. This is the time of year when the boxes in the Foodbank store fill up again for the coming months, enabling us to make parcels for those in need for so many reasons. The difference a parcel makes is obvious and a lifeline of support when life is very difficult. Alongside Harvest time the gifts that come regularly from you are soon put to use; these top ups are vital to us. Thank you also to the several of you who have volunteered to help with the Harvest sort, because other churches and schools are very generous too and your help is so welcome. Thank you all, The Foodbank Team.
KIDLINGTON COMMUNITY SINGERS
are pleased to say that £277 was raised at our concert last Saturday, and the proceeds are being donated to the Kidlington 800 fund. Thankyou to all who came to support us.

THE SAFE SPACE GROUP
is a supportive fellowship and Bible group. The Safe Space Group offers a space to meet fortnightly both for fellowship and to study matters arising from faith and the bible. We aim to keep numbers between 5 and 8 members as this group particularly meets the needs of people who want a quieter experience, one where we can reflect on our lives and how our beliefs touch our daily living.

We usually agree a theme for these groups to provide continuity and focus. For example, we have examined St John's gospel, we have focused on prayer and currently are thinking about various Saints, what they stand for and what they have to teach us. So if you find some of our church groups rather daunting to attend, want a quiet reflective space to explore your faith and how it challenges or supports your life, the Safe Space Group is for you. We'd love to have you working with us. Contact Felicity (felicityscroggie@gmail.com, 01865 372230 or 07821542182). meghann_hewett@hotmail.com, 01865 580166

Lifts to church

Could you offer a lift to Church on Sunday once in a while? Several members of the congregation rely on a lift and would be very grateful, but there are not enough of us to meet their needs at the moment. Just once a month would be really helpful. Please speak to Anne Handsley if you think you might be able to help (378267).

USING YOUR BANK CARD TO DONATE TO CHURCH

You might have noticed that we now have a small device for contactless giving at the back of church. We can now take donations by card quickly and very simply. All you have to do is touch the pad with your card – just like in the shops. This is really important as so many of us now do not carry cash in our pockets but still want to contribute to church funds. It is set to a £5 basic donation but you can change the amount from £3 up to £30 by swiping the screen if you wish to. We have the machine on a three month trial from the diocese, so please give us your feedback about using it.
