URGENT EARLY HELP FOR PARISH FETE 30TH JUNE 2018

Please could you:
DATA PROTECTION IN THE PARISH
Along with every other organisation in the country we are reviewing our practices and policies about holding data. In order to communicate with you it will soon be the law that we need your consent to hold your data (name, address, phone number and email or any other relevant details). We are therefore asking each person to sign a consent form and these forms are available today. It would greatly help us if you would sign a form straight away after the service and hand it back. This is the first stage in our strategy for reaching everybody. It's is a big job to reach every single person so we really appreciate your help in doing this. If you would like any help or personal explanation do feel free to ask Margaret Day, Jill Buckeldee or Felicity and we will be happy to explain more. Don't panic - its quite straightforward really! THANK YOU!
A REMINDER ABOUT CHEQUES
Please make any cheques for St Mary's Kidlington, St Mary's Hampton Poyle, or St John's, payable to Kidlington with Hampton Poyle PCC (St Mary's Church etc is not nowadays accepted by the bank.)

Dated Notices

MOTHERS' UNION Friday May 4th
Our next meeting will be on Friday May 4th in the Refectory at 10.00 am(coffee)when we will start with a short session of worship, before listening to your favourite music, poems or prose, so please bring something along. Also, have any ideas for further meetings & dates ready to discuss. Thank you. Pam Cooper.

CHRISTIAN AID lunch Sat 5th May
There will be a soup, bread and cheese lunch in aid of Christian Aid on Saturday 5th May, 12noon to 1.30pm, at the Methodist Church. Please do come along.

GODPARENTS' SUNDAY 6TH MAY
We will be joining other churches around the country in celebrating Godparents' Sunday. Both the All-Together Service at St John's and the 10am service at St. Mary's will offer the chance to celebrate the special role that godparents play or have played in our lives and will also provide opportunities to give thanks for and pray for any godchildren we might have. If you would like to invite anyone to this service, either families you know who would appreciate this opportunity or even your own godchildren (or maybe even your own godparents!), then I have special invitations that you can give them. Please ask/email me if you would like one to pass on to someone. Meghann (meghann_hewett@hotmail.com).

For Everything A Season 6th May
The next in the series of Coffee Talks by the Revd Laura Biron-Scott on the theme 'For Everything a Season' is at 11.30am at St Mary's Kidlington.

SUMMER TEAS START TODAY 6th May
Summer is here ... at St Mary's in the Refectory. From 3pm to 5pm each Sunday afternoon. Please do come along and support us and enjoy some tea and cake.

ART WEEKS AT ST MARY'S 5th-12th May
Part of Oxfordshire Artweeks, the exhibition runs from Saturday 5th May to Sunday 13th May, 12 to 5pm each day. Come along and see the variety of artwork by 21 artists from the Kidlington area and have a cup of tea. There's a link to the Artweeks web site on our front page.

Christian Aid Week 13th-19th May
There will be no house to house collecting again this year, but envelopes will be available in the church for people to take. Thank you. There's a link to the Christian Aid web site on our front page.

PENTECOST SUNDAY 20TH MAY
Our annual Ecumenical Service will be at St Mary's at 10.30am (not 10am). This is a joyful gathering of Kidlington Christians. Other denominations cancel their own services to be together so it is a precious occasion. It will not be a Eucharist. In the afternoon, for the fifth time now, the united churches of Kidlington offer a gift to local families: family fun and entertainment for free in Kidlington Jamboree. This is held in the 'Piazza', the square behind Barclays Bank and outside Freelance fabrics between 1.30pm and 4pm. Please take a flyer / poster, tell your friends, and please consider volunteering on the signup sheet at the back of church. We need lots of help and half an hour makes a difference.
