After the successful collaboration, Alberto Morillas has been appointed as the main perfumer of Gucci’s high-end niche line “ The Alchemist’s Garden“. I have another scent from the Gucci Guilty line, that I am going to post a review of in the very near future, but I wanted to get this one out first. I have been sampling, Guilty Absolute, and wanted to share my thoughts while they were still fresh in my mind. How does this flanker compare to the rest? What does it smell like? Does it perform well? Is it worth a try? Already in 2017 I liked GGA, at that time it was too much for me and one wanted to please girls and not scare them away. Camphoric, dark, medicinal, oily, band-aids, dentist office, barnyards, and more. Everything mentioned could be easily said as an accurate but vague description. The beginning is for me as frightening as the first time. You get the full force of Woodleather *registered trademark symbol* in your face and you have to prune for a short time. When the fragrance dries down, Absolute moves into being a woody, earthy, musky, sappy, and even cozy fragrance. The woody characteristics are more intensified, more evident with smoky nuances. Gucci Guilty Absolute Pour Homme is a leather woody fragrance for men released in 2017. The perfumer behind this fragrance is Spanish master perfumer Alberto Morillas. But honestly, none have been there yet. I was allowed to get to know many leather fragrances (thanks to the Parfumas) which are good and which I will also still get. But none was like Guilty.

Jo Malone Bronze Wood & Leather – a leather woody fragrance released in 2019. The main notes include leather, smoke, and vetiver. The lasting power is 5 – 7 hours with moderate projection.

Gucci fragrances are not known for uniqueness, or for high-quality ingredients. Absolute is an exception and the one that takes a different road. Simply delicious. My environment has already made me aware of the fragrance. Why do I smell so funny, it smells somehow like a cow barn or fertilizer.

It goes through stages and has fantastic performance. It isn’t one that will be in everyone’s wheel house, though, can totally be a signature fragrance for the right guy. It does everything well, it just comes down to whether or not this sort of cologne smells nice in your opinion. Fast and powerful, the poppy on the cornfield shoots towards the sun. You neither bought me, nor impressed me, yet you gave rich without demanding. All the money in this world cannot outweigh what you selflessly gave.
