General Notices

THANK YOU !
A huge thank you to all who brought food to last week's Harvest Festival. This was gratefully received by the North Oxfordshire food bank, in a slight change to the notice in last week's service sheet. The kind donations will all go to local people in need.

CHRISTIAN AID BREAKFAST
Thanks to everyone who supported the Big Breakfast at Kidlington Baptist Church. A total of £406 was raised for Christian Aid.

MANY THANKS
for all your good wishes and cards on the birth of baby Thomas. He's settling in very well. Lizzie is quite resigned to another brother - she knew what to expect! I hope to be able to bring him over to introduce him before long. Judith Ryder.

CAN YOU SEW?
We need some help shortening the sleeves of the chorister robes! If you can help please contact David Hewett (07724 063194, dave_hewett@hotmail.com).

CHEQUES PAYABLE TO THE CHURCH
After our change in bank account last year, any cheque for planned giving or otherwise must be made payable to Kidlington with Hampton Poyle PCC.

2020 BUILDING PROJECTS CONSULTATION MEETING
8pm 2nd November, St Mary's Kidlington
As part of our 800th birthday celebrations for St Mary's Kidlington and St Mary's Hampton Poyle we have three important building projects which will enhance the ministry in both our ancient churches: a toilet for St Mary's Hampton, a mended roof for St John's Kidlington, and a rebuilt, redesigned, or completely new refectory and hall for St Mary's Kidlington.

Before going any further with the plans for St Mary's Kidlington. we would like to consult all those with an interest in St Mary's. What sort of hall would you like to see? What or who would you like to see it used for? What are the creative possibilities in designing it? We are holding two consultation meetings: Thursday 28th September for parish members, and Thursday 2nd November for stakeholders and local people. Both are at 8pm in St Mary's. Please do tell others and come with your thoughts and ideas.

Then this could be the group for you! We are trialing a new group meeting fortnightly between November and February in which we can encourage each other and go deeper into Christian faith together. No question too stupid, no one will be put on the spot or made to speak, everyone's presence will be valued, we will go at our own pace. Some Bible study, some prayer, some learning in a supportive atmosphere. If you are a shy person, or find life a struggle we hope that you will find this group safe and encouraging.
