About this deal

On the full-fat GT-1000, they always configure CTRL3 as a dedicated tuner which is a waste of a button for me.

In contrast to traditional modeling methods, AIRD reproduces the complex internal component interactions of tube amps in every way, from guitar input to speaker output and everything in-between. Good‑sounding though they are, many of these presets were just that bit too heavy on the effects for my taste.

Is there an easy way to set that up so if I had all my patches set up in a similar way I could use a stomp box and set one divider up so it could do single A to real amp, Single B to frfr/pa or dual (both). I obviously suffered a few 'teething troubles' early days with this device - which caused me some consternation for the first 3 or 4 days - before I properly got into the swing of things. With a huge range of BOSS original amps at your disposal - covering all styles, from super-clean to ultra-heavy - along with a host of classic valve amps from accross the decades, the GT-1000 is the ultimate in pedalboard amp-modelling. Boss haven't really been champions in interface design - in fact some of their interfaces are decidedly clunky (RC-10R! The onboard controls come with default assignments for preset selection and per-patch control targets, but you can easily reassign them to operate nearly any function.

I mean, if I need another 1-2 footswitch, I could use a FS-7 and maybe add the expression pedal, giving me a total of 5 footswitch + exp pedal, while keeping a small footprint when needed. The only part of the pedal that still causes me intermittent challenges is in the assignment of footswitch controls - which I seem to mess up somewhat on every few patches I do. The 3 pedal footswitch assignments allow you to switch in/out the Chorus, Flanger and Phaser - which are all 'Off' by default. When purchasing an AC adaptor, be sure to specify the adaptor (from the list that follows) that is designed for the region in which it will be used, and the voltage supplied there. In terms of the playing experience, the GT‑1000 feels every bit as good as its direct competitors and, overall, it offers impressive value for money. Brand new artist patch sets, designed by major guitar influencers (such as Andy James, Simon McBridge, and even PMT's own Thomas McRocklin!

I had also wanted to produce a patch with each of the 3 Fuzz voicings - 'OCT FUZZ', '60S FUZZ' and 'MUFF FUZ' where I could switch between them using the 3 Stombox Controls. A bit more basic efx, and no modeling/IRs (my reason for selling it)…but it’s a great unit together with analog gear. I created a template patch which I use when building a new one, and in that patch I took one of the dividers, threw all the unused blocks into it and then bypassed them, leaving just the ones I want at the front.
